Harry Potter Trivia Game : Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: I just installed Lumos and I got a "Fatal Reset". Q: The first time I try to play, I get the message "You have successfully answered all questions", and then I get a Game Summary page Q: What if I find a mistake or a typo? Q: When will you add more questions? Q: I just installed Lumos and I got a "Fatal Reset". A: Ouch. This only happened on some handhelds, not all. We found the bug in Lumos 1.0 that caused this, fixed it, and released version 1.1. Please make sure you have downloaded the latest version of Lumos. FYI, you don't need to do a hard reset (and risk losing any data added or modified since the last time you HotSync'd) to delete a recently installed application that is causing a Fatal Reset. Do a system reset instead--while performing a soft reset, press and hold the UP key (the center scrolling hard key; a rocker key on some models, and two separate keys on newer models). Now go to the Applications menu and delete the program that is causing the problem. Do another soft reset to reinitialize all your programs and applications so that they start up normally. Q: The first time I try to play, I get the message "You have successfully answered all questions", and then I get a Game Summary page. A: Lumos was not properly installed. Lumos requires two files to be installed on your handheld:
If someone beamed you Lumos.prc, you don't have the database and therefore would get the above message. You need to reinstall Lumos by downloading lumos.zip, unzipping it, and running Setup.exe. If you downloaded lumos.zip, and ran the Setup.Exe program, you were asked twice which user's PC should Lumos be installed on (the first time was for lumos.prc and the second time you were asked was for lumosqdb.pdb). If you canceled the second question, then the database wasn't installed. You need to install the database, which can be found in your C:\Program Files\DigitSense\Lumos folder. Double-click on lumosqdb.pdb to install the database, and perform a Hot Sync. Q: What if I find a mistake or a typo? A: Please let us know! Contact us at lumos@digitsense.com. Q: When will you add more questions? A: We're waiting for for Book 5, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" to be released on June 21, 2003. Word has it that this book is 38 pages longer than "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" so it may take us a while to read through this book a few times to come up with Book 5 questions (the first time we read the book is for pure enjoyment; then comes the re-reads looking for questions). You can pre-order "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" at Amazon.com.
